Sunlight begins tracing familiar paths across its surfaces.
Rain slowly alters its texture.
Wind softens sharp edges.
Materials gather subtle evidence of occupation, weather, and memory.
The building remains.
Its experience does not.
Architecture is therefore never finished when construction ends.

Architecture is not designed to exist within a single frame.
It unfolds across years of occupation.
Morning routines.
Changing seasons.
Unexpected weather.
Quiet repairs.
Children growing older.

The life of a building extends far beyond its first appearance.
Design decisions should therefore consider more than immediate visual impact.
They should anticipate how light will continue shaping materials.
How surfaces will respond to touch.
How spaces will feel after years rather than days.
Architecture deserves to be judged not only by how convincingly it begins, but by how gracefully it continues.
Perhaps the first photograph captures a building before it has acquired its identity.
The most meaningful architecture becomes more compelling after ten years than it was on the day it opened.
